The Old Town Hall premises, erected around 1865 A.D., originally served as the office of the Dutch East India Company. Later, the British renovated the building and used it as the Governor's House. Following Sri Lanka's independence, the building was further restored and converted for commercial purposes while preserving its historical significance.
